The soft heat of crackling wood, a few steps across the deck and a dip into the cool lake. Then calm, a towel and the quiet of the water. For Finns this is not a luxury but an everyday ritual. On a Nordic Season houseboat it becomes your own moment of rest – at home, on the water, in every season.

The Finnish sauna, a way of life

In Finland the sauna is much more than a hot room: it is a place to pause, to share and to recover after an active day. Finnish sauna culture has been on the UNESCO list of Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2020. On the water the ritual makes perfect sense: heat, the cool lake, rest – and again.

  • •Heat: a few minutes in the sauna, at your own pace.
  • •Cool down: a dip in the lake or a cold shower.
  • •Rest: on the deck, facing the water, before the next round.

Wood-burning or electric stove?

  • •Wood, Harvia M3 with chimney (option 6 300 € excl. VAT): the traditional atmosphere, the crackle of the fire, and a sauna that works without electricity.
  • •Electric, Harvia 4.5 kW (option 4 840 € excl. VAT): heats at the push of a button; needs enough power – shore power, or a larger energy package with extra batteries on board.

Both versions come with class-A alder benches. Boats available in stock are offered with a Harvia wood stove or a 4.5 kW Harvia electric stove.

A houseboat for every season

The sauna is just as good in autumn and winter. The living modules are built from insulated composite panels with an 84 mm insulated roof; boats in stock have heating and frost-protected water pipes. Winter use also depends on the mooring – ice, shore power and a suitable pontoon – and we go through this with you before you buy.
